Biomarker Testing

Built on thresholds that reflect your biology

Standard lab reference ranges were calibrated on populations that don't reflect South Asian risk. Here's what the evidence shows.

Cardiovascular risk

South Asians develop coronary artery disease 5–10 years earlier than other populations, often at normal BMI. The American Heart Association recommends earlier cardiovascular risk assessment for South Asian adults.

Lipoprotein(a)

Lp(a) is a genetic, largely diet-independent risk factor for heart attack and stroke. The American Heart Association and National Lipid Association recommend one-time Lp(a) testing in adulthood — it is rarely included in standard panels.

Diabetes screening threshold

The American Diabetes Association recommends diabetes screening for South Asians at a lower BMI threshold than the general population, reflecting higher metabolic risk at lower body weights.
